Scrapping summer break for football (soccer) makes so much sense!

I had never thought why football leagues all across Europe take a break during the summer, when the weather conditions are most favorable for the game. The most plausible reason could be that the World Cup and the Euro Cup take place during that time and thus the league schedules got built around that. However, it seems that the German Football Association is discussing plans to make a better a use of the summer. It makes so much sense to play during that period rather than take a break! The biggest hurdle would be managing the schedule well around the international competition. At the very least, I definitely like the idea of playing football over summer rather than taking a break. Heck, they can move the World Cup to winter (since it happens once every four years)!
